On your next trip to Brussels, Belgium, make sure you plan for a visit to the Delirium Village and Little Delirium. Delirium Tremens beer has been voted the “Best Beer in the World” at the World Beer Championships in Chicago, among many other awards. If I haven’t already convinced you that you must try it, then let me tell you more.
Just a few steps away from the Brussels Grand Place is the Little Delirium Café. Head here in the afternoon to hang out and do some beer tasting. Little Delirium has more than thirty unique beers to choose from on their tasting menu and they pair lovely with some nice outdoor seating and people watching.
We tried five decent-sized beers for twelve euros, and our favorites were Delirium Red (a delicious cherry-flavored beer, 10%) and Floris Mango (a mango-flavored beer, 3.6%). The staff here is very friendly, they are passionate about beer, and to me, they seemed to be beer experts. Our waitress was eager to help us choose five beers that we would love, and it turns out that we did indeed like every single one! We had such a great time at the Little Delirium Café that we went back a second time during our stay in Brussels, and our waitress remembered us too! That made us like this place even more, because sometimes, good service can be hard to come by in Europe. Oh, and another tip: Don’t come here hungry. The only food they sell is bags of Lays chips.
If you love beer, a cool atmosphere, and a fun night out with friends, then once the sun goes down, head to the Delirium Village! It’s no more than fifteen-minutes away from the city center on foot and it’s worth the walk. The Delirium Village holds the world record for most beers; they have over 2,400 kinds. That is just simply madness! And yet another cool thing about this place is that on Thursdays there’s live music.
When you think of Belgium, you probably think of chocolate, waffles, and beer. So naturally, you can’t go wrong with beer in Belgium; Beer is their thing. But if you want the ultimate Belgian beer experience, make sure to stop into one of the Deliriums and try your luck at one of the many kinds and flavors of beer to choose from.
If you’ve tried Delirium Tremens beer, do you agree it’s the best in the world? We think it’s pretty darn good! And also, which bar in Brussels is your favorite? You already know ours! Let us know in the comments! We’d love to hear from you!
