The year is quickly coming to a close, and it’s crazy to think that it’s almost 2016.
As the year ends, I’m feeling thankful for all of the places we’ve visited, the people we’ve met, and the things we’ve learned and experienced along the way.
2015 might be ending, but our adventures are just getting started! Here is our travel agenda for the next year, which we will somehow fit into our schedules, while also going to school and working. But just remember this guys: if we can do it, you can too!
Here’s what you can expect to see on Travel Alphas over the next year!
In two weeks, Mauricio and I will be reuniting in Vancouver to eat our way through this foodie city; we also plan on relaxing in the mountains and checking out the city’s nightlife.
December 2015 to January 2016:
A few short weeks later, we’ll be jetting off to Europe again for three weeks. This will be our sixth time in Europe! Just like last year, we’ll be spending New Year’s Eve in Berlin, and also exploring Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Prague, and Český Krumlov.
In February, we’ll be visiting Playas del Rosarito, Mexico for a little road trip. Tacos, lots of beer, and sunny beaches are in our future! We’ll also be road tripping through Arizona to do some hiking and nature exploring!
In March, San Francisco is on the travel menu. San Francisco is a favorite of ours, but we’ve yet to visit Big Sur, so this is quite an exciting trip! I’ll also be jetting over to New York City to visit Mauricio for around 12 days. Tell me, what’s better than exploring New York City with the one you love?
In April we need to focus on getting through the semester. Ill be at home, exploring Southern California, and Mauricio will be in New York City.
In May, Mauricio is graduating from St. John’s University, so I’ll fly back to New York City for a huge celebration! Then Mauricio will pack up his life in New York City and come back to Southern California. Finally, our long distance relationship will end!
In June, Mauricio will be celebrating his birthday, island style – which sadly, I’ll be missing. He’ll be zipping over to Puerto Rico and some other Caribbean islands which are currently undecided. More on that later.
For me, it’s back to Europe again! I’m taking my younger brother on his first ever trip to Europe. Over four weeks, we’ll be exploring London, Paris, Florence, Cinque Terre, little towns in Tuscany, Rome, Venice, and Milan. Then my brother will fly home and I’ll fly to Budapest where Mauricio will meet me.
In July, we’ll explore Budapest again by ourselves for about five days, and then we’ll climb aboard a Viking River Cruise. Over 15 days, we’ll be cruising through Hungary, Austria, Germany, and the Netherlands. This is probably the most exciting part of our travel year! Here’s our exact itinerary:
In August, we’ll discover two new countries that we’ve never visited before: Ireland, and Scotland! The current plan is to spend a few days in each of the big cities (Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Dublin) and then head out to see the Scottish Highlands and the Irish countryside.
In October, we’re heading to Perú, to trek to Machu Picchu, explore the Amazon, and take in the Peruvian culture in both Lima and Cusco. It’s going to be the trip of a lifetime!
In November, we’re visiting South America again. But this time, we have our sights set on Colombia! The capital city of Bogotá, the cool, modern city of Medellin, and the Caribbean colonial city of Cartagena make up our itinerary. We’re also planning visits to Tayrona and the Islas del Rosario!
In December, we’re planning to visit Mexico City, Oaxaca, Puebla, and Cuernavaca. We’ve visited Mexico dozens of times, but this trip will really be focused on food and Mexican culture, rather than its awesome beaches, fishing, surfing, etc.
Over to you! Where are you traveling to over the next year? If you don’t have any plans yet, where would your dream destination be?
